Description

Mobile electronic warfare system using AI signal processing to detect and jam airborne radar systems including AWACS and UAVs. Automated frequency management and response.

Krasukha-4 is specifically optimized to target the AN/APY-2 and AN/APY-10 radars carried on US E-3 AWACS and E-8 JSTARS aircraft, which are critical to US Air Force mission command. Its AI signal processing enables it to rapidly analyze and respond to frequency-hopping radars that change frequencies hundreds of times per second to defeat conventional jammers. Russia deployed Krasukha-4 to Syria in 2015 to protect Russian forces and has used it in Ukraine to suppress Ukrainian and NATO ISR activities.

Notable Use

Deployed in Syria 2015; used in Ukraine conflict 2022–present; reportedly jammed US ISR platforms

Investment Implications

Russian defense companies are under Western sanctions. Northrop Grumman (NOC) and L3Harris (LHX) benefit from US military investment in AWACS and ISR survivability improvements in response to Krasukha-4.
