GB-6 Glide Bomb (AI seeker)

AI Targeting
DEPLOYED
2014

Description

Long-range glide bomb with AI-enabled terminal seeker for autonomous target recognition and engagement. Dispensed in large quantities from H-6 bombers.

The GB-6 munition dispenser carries large numbers of submunitions that are released at altitude and use individual AI seekers to autonomously acquire and attack dispersed targets including parked aircraft, radar systems, and armored vehicles. Its integration with the H-6K bomber gives the PLA Air Force a standoff precision strike capability that can engage targets on Guam and throughout the first island chain without entering US integrated air defense coverage. China has developed multiple variant seekers for the GB-6 including millimeter wave, infrared, and dual-mode options.

Notable Use

PLA Air Force strategic strike inventory; integrated into H-6K strike packages

Investment Implications

CASC is state-owned. The GB-6's threat to Pacific bases has driven US investment in Raytheon (RTX) and Northrop Grumman (NOC) air defense modernization programs.
