Harop

IL — Israel Aerospace Industries
Autonomous Drone
DEPLOYED
2009

Description

Anti-radiation loitering munition that autonomously hunts and destroys radar emitters. Can operate in fully autonomous mode or be manually directed to target.

The Harop combines the loiter capability of a surveillance drone with the terminal attack profile of a missile, giving it unique flexibility to abort attacks and re-engage if the initial parameters are not met. Its passive RF homing capability means it can be launched before a radar even switches on, waiting to home on emissions once a target activates. The system can loiter for up to six hours and is recoverable if no suitable radar target is detected during its mission.
