Description

Tracked unmanned combat ground vehicle with AI-assisted navigation and remote weapon station. Designed for autonomous patrol, fire support, and mine laying.

Nerekhta's tracked design enables it to keep pace with tank formations over cross-country terrain where wheeled robots would be immobilized. The platform has been tested with different weapon modules including a Kord 12.7mm heavy machine gun, a PKT 7.62mm machine gun, and an AG-17A grenade launcher, demonstrating Russian interest in modular autonomous weapon systems. Russia has explicitly stated its intention to develop fully autonomous versions of Nerekhta that can engage targets without human authorization.

Notable Use

Military exercises demonstrated autonomous convoy escort and target engagement 2017–2020

Investment Implications

Degtyarev Plant is a Russian state enterprise under sanctions. No Western equity exposure exists, though the broader threat drives investment in US and NATO counter-UGV systems from Leonardo DRS (private) and QinetiQ (QQ.L).
